The emergence of the covid pandemic in 2020 posed many challenges for the consumer-citizen in evaluating the trustworthiness of sometimes contrasting scientific claims. This inquiry activity invites students to walk through the history (that many still remember vividly), and to compare the historical views with what we know now. Retrospect allows us to better evaluate the once-controversial claims. Students themselves discuss and identify the various dimensions of analysis -- and how to sort through the credibility of various sources of information.
