Ira L. Baldwin
Baldwin is an agriculture bacteriologist on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He recently chaired the NRC Committee on Pest Control and Wildlife Relations. He has reviewed Silent Spring in the prestigious journal Science. Earlier he worked on worker safety, aand also directed the U.S. biological weapons program in World War II.
Be sure to review Chaps. 1-3,7-8,12,15 of Silent Spring. You should be able to comment on Carson's credibility, benefits and harms of pesticides, and indiscriminate use (including worker safety).
