Gabrielson in 1937

Ira N. Gabrielson
Known affectionately to many as "Mr. Conservation" and, simply, "Gabe," Gabrielson is notable for his work in the history of the National Wildlife Refuge System. He has a background in research as well as wildlife and fisheries management. Recently, he chaired the NRC's subcommittee on research needs for "Pesticides and Wildlife Relations."
Be sure to review Chaps. 1-2, 4-9 of Silent Spring. You should be able to comment on the benefits and harms of pesticides, on research needs -- and their prospective costs-- and on the balance/control of nature.
